THE CHALLENGE & THE CAUSE
On 12 September 2026 I will drag a 70kg leylandii log 42km across the Isle of Man—from Ramsey to Castletown—solo, through the night. The log fell on my family driveway during winter 2024. That driveway is the start line. I am dragging it home.
The route follows the A2 coast road south—relentlessly hilly. The road drops into coastal glens and climbs back out repeatedly. The stretch south from Douglas adds further climbs in the final third, when fatigue is highest.

Strand Street is pedestrianised. The full 70kg log will be lifted and carried approx. 750m before setting back down on the rig.
The Amazon pumps 20 billion tonnes of vapour daily—aerial rivers that feed rainfall across the North Atlantic, including the Isle of Man. When the forest falls, our weather changes. This challenge supports Junglekeepers in protecting 160,000+ acres of the Las Piedras basin.
